U.S. All-Cap Core Equity Strategy

The strategy seeks long-term capital growth through investments in U.S. companies that have sustainable competitive advantages and the ability to generate significant cash flow. The strategy has the flexibility to invest in all market capitalizations and across the growth and value spectrum.

Philosophy

The team believes companies delivering positive compounding cash flow growth should outperform over time. The team models attractive businesses across multiple fundamental scenarios 5 to 15 years into the future, a level of analysis they believe offers an investment horizon advantage. The strategy is style-agnostic, seeks to have high active share, and pursues capital appreciation.

Sandy is a senior managing director and senior portfolio manager for Manulife Investment Management, leading the U.S. core value equity team, which manages large-cap value, large-cap core, and all-cap core strategies. He was most recently a director, portfolio manager, and senior equity analyst with the large-cap equity research team at Wells Capital Management; he began his career with Evergreen Investments. Sandy hold the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, and is a member of the CFA Society Boston.

Jonathan T. White, CFA

Senior Portfolio Manager, Core Value Equity

Jonathan is a co-leader of the core value equity team, which manages the U.S. Large Cap Core, U.S. All Cap Core, U.S. Large Cap Value, and Global Focus Strategies. He’s also the lead portfolio manager of the Global Focus Strategy, as well as a co-portfolio manager of the U.S. Large Cap Core and U.S. All Cap Core Strategies. Jonathan focuses on the consumer discretionary and consumer staples sectors.  Before joining the firm in 2011, he was a senior analyst at Wells Capital Management, a senior analyst at Evergreen Investments, and an assistant vice president for Standish, Ayer & Wood. Earlier in his career, he held positions at Morgan Stanley and Smith Barney. Jonathan holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute.
