Recep C. Kendircioglu, CFA, FRM

Portfolio Manager, Head of Infrastructure Investments

Recep oversees the firm’s infrastructure investments group and is a portfolio manager of infrastructure-related closed-end funds that allow third-party investors to invest alongside Manulife. Prior to joining the firm, he worked for Enel North America, acquiring and developing renewable energy projects in the United States and Canada and also taking an international assignment for privatization bids in Poland and France. Prior to Enel, Recep managed the strategy and planning group at InterGen, where he worked on the development and financing of U.S. thermal plants. Recep holds the Chartered Financial Analyst and Financial Risk Manager designations and is a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society.

John C.S. Anderson

Global Head of Corporate Finance and Infrastructure

John is a 30+ year infrastructure investor, and President of the Manulife Infrastructure Funds.  In this role he chairs the investment committee for Infrastructure Equity and supports the team in investment origination, investment selection, and asset management. 

John is also a member of Manulife’s Global Leadership Team and sits on Manulife’s global investment committee.   In his broader role, he also leads teams that invest in the public bond and private debt markets globally for the Manulife life insurance companies, including Manulife’s $45 billion infrastructure debt program. 

John joined John Hancock’s infrastructure investing team in 2001 and was the leader of the team until 2010, when he moved into a broader role at Manulife.  Prior to joining Manulife, John worked for 10 years in the New York and London offices of JP Morgan Chase, as an infrastructure debt lending officer.

Pradeep Killamsetty

Managing Director

Pradeep is a managing director on the investment team, responsible for originating, structuring, and executing new investments, as well as ongoing portfolio management.

He worked in the power sector as an investor, developer, and as a financial advisor in the infrastructure sector. After graduating from business school, Pradeep joined Credit Suisse's power and utilities investment banking group. At Credit Suisse, he was involved in merger and acquisition advisory and financing assignments for various power sector clients. After Credit Suisse, Pradeep joined Competitive Power Ventures, where he helped develop and finance about 1,000 megawatts of renewable energy and gas-fired power projects.

Pradeep Killamsetty

Scott Kushner

Managing Director

Scott is a managing director on the investment team, responsible for originating, analyzing, structuring, and closing new investments, as well as ongoing portfolio management.

Since joining the team, he’s led investments in public, private, and project finance debt, and infrastructure equity totaling approximately $4.5 billion. Within Fund I, Scott manages the fund’s investments in Back Bay Solar and J-Power. Within Fund II, he manages the fund's investments in CleanCapital, HEN Infrastructure, and MCV.

Prior to joining the investment team, Scott worked as an analyst in the finance group at Enel North America, where he evaluated the acquisition and new development of renewable energy projects in the United States and Canada. Prior to Enel, Scott worked as an equity research associate at Oppenheimer & Co. covering the medical diagnostics and healthcare services sectors, and before that, he worked in various roles at Pioneer Investments.

Scott Kushner

Matthew Fedors

Managing Director

Matthew is a managing director on the investment team, responsible for the origination, execution, and ongoing oversight of investments in the sector. He has over 20 years of experience in the power and renewables, transportation, and infrastructure sectors in principal and advisory roles.

Within Fund I, he led the fund’s investment in Bayonne Energy Center and manages the fund’s investment in the Transportation Portfolio, which comprises three public-private partnerships. Within Fund II, he led the investments in Elizabeth River Crossings and Purple Line TransportCo.  Prior to joining the investment team, Matthew was a principal at Leaf Capital Management, a mid-market private equity firm responsible for renewable energy and water investments in the United States and Mexico. Earlier in his career, he was an investment banker with JPMorgan’s energy group and leveraged finance group, focusing on electric and gas utilities and power generation facilities. Matthew previously served as an advisor to the U.S. Department of Commerce on international energy policy as part of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Advisory Committee and served on the Leadership Council of the American Council on Renewable Energy.

Matthew Fedors

Christopher McKenzie

Managing Director

Christopher is a managing director on the investment team, responsible for originating, structuring, and executing new investments, as well as ongoing portfolio management. Within Fund I, he led the fund’s investments in Calpine, Discovery/Rocky Mountain Midstream, the Long Beach Container Terminal, and Superior Pipeline Services. Christopher represents Fund I on the board of Long Beach Container Terminal.

He’s worked in the power and energy sectors in both development and investing roles. Prior to joining the investment team, Christopher was a director with Sempra Energy, where he evaluated the acquisition and development of conventional power, renewable energy, and midstream projects throughout North America. Prior to Sempra, he was an associate within the energy group at Fortress Investment Group, supporting debt and equity investments in the power and renewables, midstream, and oilfield services sectors, and before that, he worked at GE Energy Financial Services.

Christopher McKenzie

Edward Dunn

Managing Director

Edward is a managing director on the investment team, responsible for originating, analyzing, structuring, and executing new investments, as well as ongoing portfolio management. He’s responsible for $2.3 billion of the infrastructure team’s portfolio and has executed $5.9 billion of transactions while on the investment team. Within Fund I, Edward led the fund’s investments in Phoenix Tower International, Diamond Communications, and Duquesne Light. Within Fund II, he led the fund's investments in ExteNet, Sabey Data Centers, Boldyn Networks, and Landmark. Edward represents the investment team on the boards of Diamond, ExteNet, and Sabey.

Prior to joining the investment team, Edward was previously a financial analyst at GenPower Carbon Solutions, where he negotiated and structured greenhouse gas offset projects with business owners in developing countries to earn carbon credits sold in the European Union trading scheme, generate electricity, and clean up the air and water pollution in local communities. Prior to GenPower, he was an investment banker at Thomas Weisel Partners (now part of Stifel Nicolaus) in New York City, with a focus on the electronics and semiconductor industries.

Edward Dunn

Andrew Mazze

Managing Director

Andrew is a managing director on the investment team, responsible for originating, executing, and managing equity investments in infrastructure assets. Over the course of his career, he’s led transactions across the renewable, energy efficiency, utility, and transportation subsectors. Within Fund I, Andrew is responsible for the fund’s investments in Duke Symphony and Sunrun as well as overseeing asset management of Caithness Freedom and Project Transmission. Within Fund II, he’s responsible for the fund's investments in Patriot Utility Privatization (Dominion) and JFK Millennium Partners.

Andrew Mazze

Daniel Neil, CFA, CPA, CBV

Senior Director

Daniel is a senior director on the investment team. He joined the team in May 2017 and has been directly involved in several Manulife Infrastructure Fund II investments, as well as the execution of approximately 15 direct equity investments and co-investments in digital, transportation, renewable energy, conventional power, and social infrastructure sectors. Prior to his time at Manulife, he worked at a Manulife-owned renewable energy company, Regional Power Inc. and Deloitte. Within Fund II, Daniel supports the investment in Boldyn Networks. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst, Chartered Professional Accountant, and Chartered Business Valuator designations.

James McLean

Director

James is a director on the investment team, responsible for originating, structuring, and executing new investments, as well as ongoing portfolio management. Since joining the team, he’s led investments in public, private, and project finance debt, and infrastructure equity.

Within Fund I, James supported the fund’s investments in Back Bay Solar, Caithness Freedom, Calpine Corporation, Cleco Corporation, Duke Energy Renewables, Duquesne Light, and Exelon Generation Renewables. He represented Fund I on the board of Cleco Corporation.

Within Fund II, he manages the investment in Silicon Ranch Corporation. Within Fund III, James manages the investment in NineDot Energy.

James McLean

Dylan Arnould

Director

Dylan is a director on the investment team. He has spent over four years with the team, rejoining in December 2021 after executing and managing a portfolio of climate technology venture capital investments with the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center. He has over 10 years of relevant experience in energy, infrastructure, and climate investing. His previous experience also includes more than four years of power project development and merger and acquisitions with InterGen. Within Fund I, Dylan supports the investments in Bayonne, Cleco, Diamond, and J-Power.

Dylan Arnould

Chris Caliguire

Associate Director

Chris is an associate director on the investment team, responsible for analyzing new investments, deal diligence, and execution, as well as ongoing portfolio management. Prior to joining John Hancock, he was an associate at Barclays in the power and utilities banking group focused on mergers and acquisitions across the utility, power, and renewable sectors. Within Fund I, Chris supports the investments in Duquesne, Coso BESS, and Sunrun. In Fund II, he’s involved with investments in Sabey Data Centers and Boldyn Networks.

Jonathan Kimball

Associate Director

Jonathan is an associate director on the investment team, supporting the underwriting of over $2.5 billion of equity and debt investment in the renewables, transportation, digital, midstream, social, and utility sectors. In addition to transaction diligence and execution, he works with senior members of the team throughout the investment lifecycle, from underwriting to ongoing asset management through exit. Within Fund I, Johnathan supports the investments in Back Bay Solar, Rocky Mountain Midstream, and the Transportation Portfolio. In Fund II, he’s involved with the investments in ExteNet Systems, Elizabeth River Crossings, and Landmark Student Housing.

Jonathon Davis

Senior Associate

Jonathon is a senior associate on the investment team, supporting the underwriting and management of Fund II’s investments in Purple Line, and PowerFlex. Prior to joining the firm, he was a member of Mizuho’s project finance team, where he focused on transactions in the power space, across both conventional generation and renewable energy. Previously, Jonathon supported the procurement and delivery of major transportation and social infrastructure projects as a member of KPMG’s infrastructure advisory platform.

Jesse Brown

Senior Associate

Jesse is a senior associate on the investment team. He has spent over three years with the team, rejoining in December 2021 after briefly assuming a CFO/COO role with a small start-up as he helped the company execute through a seed/series A funding round. Jesse is responsible for analyzing new investments, deal diligence and execution, as well as ongoing portfolio management. Within Fund I, he helps manage the investment in Caithness Freedom. In Fund II, he supported the investments in HEN Infrastructure and MCV, and now also helps manage the investments in CleanCapital and Patriot Utility Privatization.

Mert is a senior associate on the investment team, responsible for the due diligence and underwriting of infrastructure private equity investments, as well as the ongoing asset management of existing portfolio companies. Previously, Mert was an analyst within the power, utilities, and infrastructure investment banking group at RBC Capital Markets, where he helped support the execution of merger and acquisition and leveraged finance transactions.

Mert Teniozo

Yi Xu

Senior Associate

Yi is a senior associate on the investment team, responsible for analyzing new investments, deal diligence, and execution, as well as ongoing portfolio management. She also works with the sustainable investing team to support the integration of environmental, social, and governance factors throughout the investment process. Prior to joining the firm, Yi worked for three years at the energy and infrastructure division of IDB Invest (Inter-American Investment Corporation), structuring project finance transactions in Latin America. Within Fund I, she supports the investments in Duke Symphony, Superior, and Project.

Analyst

Emily is an investment analyst on the investment team, where she has worked since July 2023 as a rotational analyst before joining the team officially in January 2024. Since joining, she’s supported the team in the underwriting of infrastructure private equity investments and portfolio management. Emily joined the Investment Development Rotational Program at Manulife/John Hancock in July 2022. Previous rotational experiences include portfolio management and client services as well as agribusiness private equity originations and strategy within Manulife Investment Management's timberland and agriculture business line.

Kate is a senior managing director on the global infrastructure equity team and is based in Toronto. She leads Manulife’s $5 billion global fund and co-investment program to support the firm’s general accounts in Canada, the United States, and Asia. Matt’s background includes overseeing Manulife’s legacy oil & gas focused private equity investments and the formation of an energy transition growth equity strategy within the infrastructure program. Imran Doha

Director

Imran is a director on the global infrastructure equity team and is based in Toronto. He’s responsible for the origination, execution, and ongoing oversight of Manulife’s global fund and co-investment program, investing on behalf of Manulife’s general accounts in Canada, the United States, and Asia. Prior to joining the firm, Imran was responsible for private market investments at the Bell Canada pension plan, and before that, Imran worked in project finance at Bombardier Transportation and in business development at the National Bank of Canada. He serves as a part-time faculty member in the department of finance at Concordia University.

Michael is an associate director on the global infrastructure equity team and is based in Toronto. He rejoined the team in 2022, after briefly assuming a role managing the infrastructure program for a private high-net-worth asset manager. Michael is responsible for the origination, execution, and ongoing portfolio management of Manulife’s global fund and co-investment program. He has over seven years of experience in infrastructure investments and asset management. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Professional designations.

Cheng is a senior associate on the global infrastructure equity team and is based in Toronto. He’s responsible for the origination, execution, and ongoing oversight of Manulife’s global fund and co-investment program, investing on behalf of Manulife’s general accounts in Canada, the United States, and Asia. Prior to joining the firm in 2021, Cheng was part of the direct infrastructure investment team at Investment Management Corporation of Ontario (IMCO). Prior to IMCO, he worked in project finance and infrastructure advisory at National Bank of Canada. Cheng started his career in equity research at Canaccord Genuity. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Denis Karmalita

Analyst

Denis serves as an investment analyst on the Toronto global infrastructure equity team. Since joining the group in 2022, he’s supported the team in deal diligence, underwriting, and portfolio management across Manulife’s global funds and co-investment program. Denis initially joined Manulife as part of the Investment Division Rotational Program, rotating through infrastructure equity and later private equity and credit.

Benjamin W. Thorndike, CFA

Head of Infrastructure, Investor Relations

Ben is a managing director and head of infrastructure investor relations, responsible for leading interactions with existing and prospective infrastructure fund investors, with a focus on developing deep relationships with limited partners and their consultants, management of fund client reporting (scheduled and ad hoc), and coordination of co-investment syndication processes with limited partners. His prior roles include senior-level investor relations positions at investment firms, including Huntsman Gay Global Capital, Bain Capital, Wellington Management Company, and Scudder Investments. Ben holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Avyanna De Biswas

Managing Director, Infrastructure, Investor Relations

Avy has been at Manulife Investment Management since the inception of the Private Markets business in 2013 and is now a managing director within the infrastructure investor relations team.

Prior to joining Manulife, she worked on the derivatives desk at Barclays Capital as a vice president, where she coordinated interest-rate hedging for corporate clients on the back of event-driven transactions.

Since joining the infrastructure investor relations team during the launch of the first fund, Avy has focused on supporting global capital sourcing, building relationships with existing investors and their consultants, managing co-investment processes, spearheading marketing activities, and coordinating investor reporting.

Jerry Hanrahan

Senior Advisor/ Industry Partner¹

Jerry joined the infrastructure team in 2001 and was the team leader from 2011 until 2016. Under his leadership, the infrastructure team’s portfolio grew from $17 billion of debt and equity investments to $24 billion. Jerry is currently a senior advisor to John Hancock Infrastructure Fund.

He has worked in the financing of the power industry since 1990, as an investor, as a finance officer, and as a financial advisor to power companies.

Prior to joining John Hancock, Jerry worked for four years in the Boston and London offices of power company InterGen, where he coordinated all financing activities on power projects in Turkey, Colombia, and Egypt. Prior to InterGen, he spent nine years in the structured finance and financial advisory divisions of Bank of Tokyo Capital Corporation in Boston.

1 Jerry is a former employee of John Hancock/Manulife, having joined John Hancock in May 2001. In 2011, he became the head of the infrastructure team and remained in this position until his retirement in June 2016.  He’s now employed by John Hancock on a contractual basis.

Jerry Hanrahan

Deirdre A. Daesen, CFA, FSA

COO, Infrastructure

Deirdre is a managing director at Manulife and COO of Manulife infrastructure investments. She’s responsible for the coordination with accounting and tax resources, financial and performance reporting, investor reporting, cash management, and other operational aspects of infrastructure equity investments within Manulife third-party funds and general account.

Prior to joining the infrastructure investments team in 2018, Deirdre worked for 17 years on the John Hancock investment division portfolio management team. In that role, she was responsible for portfolio management services on the $6.8 billion general account private equity portfolio, including performance reporting, structuring, valuation, accounting guidance, and capital review. Deirdre holds the Chartered Financial Analyst and Fellow in the Society of Actuaries designations and is a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society.

Kim Rowland

Director, Portfolio Reporting

Kim is a director, portfolio reporting. She joined the infrastructure team in 2005 from John Hancock’s investment controllers group. Kim has a strong background in investment accounting and she supports the power and infrastructure group’s work in valuation preparation, portfolio reporting, and performance tracking for the infrastructure equity portfolio. Prior to joining John Hancock, Kim was a financial analyst at Sun Life.

Vanessa Santos, CPA

Manager, Global Infrastructure Equity Reporting & Analysis

Vanessa is a manager on the global infrastructure equity reporting team and is based in Waterloo. Vanessa assists with Manulife’s reporting of third-party funds and the firm’s general accounts in Canada, the United States, and Asia. Regan Smith

Managing Director, Sustainable Investing, Real Estate and Infrastructure

Regan has overall accountability for implementing and managing the firm’s sustainability strategy across a global portfolio of real estate, totaling over 60 million square feet across 11 countries. She develops strategic programs to address changing global market demand, the policy landscape, and investor expectations toward sustainability and corporate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) objectives. Regan works with global investment management teams, asset managers, real estate services teams, and property teams, assessing ESG issues such as the environmental and social impact of investments.

Prior to joining the firm, Regan held a leadership role in the sustainability and energy team at the engineering consulting firm WSP, where she provided sustainability advisory services, green building certification, energy and carbon management, and greenhouse gas accounting. She was one of the first consultants to provide green building and sustainability consulting in Canada.

Katie Wu, CFA

Associate Director, Sustainable Investing

Katie is an associate director, sustainable investing, for the firm’s private markets business. Her role focuses on sustainable investing activities within the private equity, credit, and infrastructure businesses, as well as provides leverage to the wider private markets sustainability team. Prior to joining the firm, she was part of the sustainable investing team at CPP Investments, where she worked with investment teams on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) integration and asset management across global public and private portfolio companies. Her experience includes performing ESG due diligence and partnering with investment teams through the investment lifecycle, stewardship, and engagement with company board and management to advance ESG initiatives. She’s been an active member in industry groups such as the 30% Club, Principles for Responsible Investment, and numerous collaborative engagement groups. Katie also has a background working in risk management and project management in capital markets, including a short stint in China, and she holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Rachel supports sustainable investing activities within the private equity, credit, and infrastructure businesses, as well as provides leverage to the wider private markets sustainability team. Prior to joining the firm, she was a consultant with Deloitte’s sustainability and climate change practice, specializing in sustainable finance. In that role, Rachel supported major Canadian banks, pension funds, and crown corporations to develop environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and net zero strategies, integrate ESG factors into investment portfolios, and quantify portfolio financed emissions. Prior to that, she completed a series of internships at BCI and Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, working with their responsible investing, asset allocation, and investor relations teams.

Senior Associate, Infrastructure Equity Specialist

Stephanie is a senior associate on the private markets content specialists team, dedicated to supporting the infrastructure equity team. Since joining the team, she has been a key support for the investor relations and investment team, partnering with distribution teams to facilitate efforts in raising capital for third-party funds and providing support for existing clients. Stephanie is responsible for helping to manage key quarterly deliverables, investor due diligence, content creation, and collaborating with key stakeholders within the organization to deliver marketing content, portfolio insight, and providing support for special projects. Prior to this role, she was a content manager on the marketing operations team within Manulife Investment Management, where she supported the quarterly deliverables of marketing collateral across real estate, infrastructure, private equity and credit, and timberland and agriculture.
