Marc Feliciano

Global Head of Real Estate

Marc is the global head of real estate, private markets, at Manulife Investment Management, responsible for developing and implementing the strategy and increasing the firm’s capabilities in this area on behalf of clients, including Manulife’s general account. His work includes overseeing all aspects of the real estate business, including portfolio management, investments, asset management, development of new products, and the integration of sustainability into both investments and operations.

Prior to joining Manulife, Marc was the chief investment officer (CIO) of real estate Americas and the head of portfolio and asset management for the RREEF Real Estate Americas business. He was also head of the Americas Debt Investments Group and a member of the Americas Leadership Committee and Global Investment Committee. Marc served as chairman of the Americas Real Estate Investment Committee, which governs both equity and debt investments and portfolios and serves on the Americas Real Estate Management Committee. As Americas’ CIO, he worked with portfolio managers in developing specific portfolio strategy for each account or fund as part of the annual investment plan process. He also was a board member of RREEF Property Trust, a non-traded REIT. Prior to assuming this position, he served as global head of risk and performance analysis, responsible for the development of allocation, risk, and performance tools. In this role, Marc was a member of the Global CIO Group, working closely with the global and regional CIOs and the research team to formulate the global and regional house views and strategy and to develop the resulting house portfolio for each region. While with RREEF Real Estate, he led debt restructurings across several accounts and funds in conjunction with the Americas portfolio management, asset management, and capital markets teams. Marc also worked in the private and public real estate industries while at Morgan Stanley, Heitman/PRA Securities Advisors, and INVESCO Realty Advisors.

Anjali U. Chitre, J.D.

Managing Director, Deputy Chief Counsel, Private Markets

Anjali provides legal counsel to the Manulife Investment Management private markets, real estate, and private equity and credit groups. She’s experienced in corporate and real estate transactional matters, including real estate finance, leasing, zoning/permitting and land use, tax credit, property acquisitions and dispositions, real estate operations, and stock and asset purchases. Prior to joining Manulife, Anjali was in private practice at the Boston office of the law firm of Wilmer Hale. Earlier in her career, she was a corporate banking analyst and strategic marketing and communications manager at FleetBoston Financial.

Anjali U. Chitre, J.D.

Erik Gustafson

Global COO, Real Estate

Erik oversees global operations for the firm’s real estate investment assets, encompassing a portfolio of office, industrial, and multifamily assets. In this role, he works with the firm’s global real estate leadership team to assess and set organizational vision, operational strategy, and target growth initiatives. Previously, he was the firm’s head of U.S. real estate asset management.  Earlier in his career, ​Erik spent 15 years with Fidelity, where he was the global head of portfolio management at the Pembroke real estate group of Fidelity Investments. He began his career with Arthur Andersen and Capgemini Ernst & Young. As of April 2022, Erik is a member of the Global Exchange Council.​

Erik Gustafson

Erin Patterson

Global Co-Head of Research and Strategy

As global co‐head of research and strategy of real estate private markets, Erin is responsible for developing and executing the real estate platform’s overall research strategy and house view, leveraging predictive analytics and proprietary modeling that guide the acquisition and asset management real estate lifecycle. She works closely with the regional chief investment officers and functional teams in these efforts, contributing investment decision‐making insight and working toward an increasing level of sophistication and quality with regard to evaluating and advancing the investment thesis. In her role, Erin sits on the global real estate leadership team.

Previously, Erin was director of real estate research and strategy at Wafra Real Estate, responsible for executing and maintaining a research and strategy platform in support of the Wafra real estate team, fund, and portfolio investments. Before that, Erin was a senior vice president at JLL, where she led and managed engagements with major global corporate occupiers in various real estate portfolio and organizational transformation strategies. She also managed principal and investor‐side engagements that included real estate investment/portfolio strategy, feasibility analysis, and market impact studies. Prior to that, Erin worked at DWS, where she was responsible for leading research and strategy for office investments across the United States.

Erin Patterson

Gregory Sweeney, CFA, CAIA

Head of Transactions & Capital Markets, Real Estate Equity, Canada

Gregory leads the firm’s real estate investment team in Canada, responsible for executing the investment strategy for both its general account and third-party clients, which includes all aspects of investment management such as origination, underwriting, structuring, and negotiation of transaction documents in support of real property acquisitions, dispositions, and development activity in Canada. Since joining the firm, Gregory has completed investment transactions across all property types and regions; in addition, he’s participated in several strategic corporate initiatives, including the development and launch of the firm’s inaugural Canadian commercial real estate pooled fund and real estate due diligence in support of Manulife’s acquisition of Standard Life’s Canadian operations. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designations.

Irene Lopes

HR Partner

With more than 20 years in the Human Resources (HR) industry, Irene has been a trusted advisor to executive leadership teams spanning multiple lines of business. In her current position as AVP, HR Partner, Irene is providing strategic HR leadership to help cultivate an engaging work culture for the Canadian Wealth and Asset Management business, the Global Wealth and Asset Management Product and Strategy team, the Global Real Estate team and Manulife’s casualty business in Barbados.

Irene is instrumental in attracting, developing, and retaining top talent through her dynamic HR strategies, including the formation of the Advanced Analytics Development Program. With her support and guidance, Irene has a proven track record of helping executive leaders increase their employee engagement scores, year over year.

Passionate about driving diversity, equity, and inclusion, Irene is an active member of several committees across Manulife including, spearheading the partnership with Women in Capital Markets and accelerating gender diversity practices within the Women of Real Estate and Private Markets Diversity Council.

Irene Lopes

Jeffrey Wolfe, MAI, CFA

Portfolio Manager and Global Co-Head of Portfolio Management

Jeffrey heads the firm’s portfolio management function for the real estate equity group, where he’s responsible for seeking to maximize the performance of client portfolios. He’s also the portfolio manager for Manulife’s global real estate portfolio, responsible for the investment, management, and performance of the portfolio. Prior to that, he was chief investment officer of a publicly traded real estate investment trust that he helped launch on the Singapore stock exchange. Before joining the firm, Jeffrey worked within the investment advisory arena with firms such as Lend Lease and Equitable Real Estate Investment Management. His diverse background in real estate includes prior positions as portfolio manager, acquisitions officer, asset manager, chief credit officer, director of analytics, and chief appraiser. Jeffrey holds both the Member Appraisal Institute and Chartered Financial Analyst designations.

Jessica Harrison

Head of U.S. Acquisitions, Real Estate Private Markets, Manulife Investment Management

Jessica is the head of U.S. acquisitions for Manulife Investment Management’s real estate platform. In her role, she’s responsible for the sourcing, underwriting, structuring, and negotiation of all transactions across the United States on behalf of Manulife’s clients. Additionally, she leads the investment team, providing oversite and mentorship across North America. Jessica is a voting member of Manulife’s investment committee for all private commercial real estate investments across the United States. Prior to joining the firm, she was a senior vice president and portfolio manager for PIMCO, leading commercial real estate investments across the southwest and mountain region of the United States and responsible for the sourcing, underwriting, negotiation, and structuring of core-plus, value-add, and opportunistic equity, including structured finance, on behalf of PIMCO’s funds. Jessica was a voting member of several investment committees across the organization and essential in fundraising efforts for new products.  She joined PIMCO from American Realty Advisors (ARA), where she led acquisitions across Texas and Mountain states. Additionally, she was head of multifamily relationships, securing several key partnerships on behalf of ARA’s clients. Throughout Jessica’s career, she has originated billions of commercial real estate across all product types and risk profiles.

Jessica Lee

CIO, Real Estate Credit

Jessica is a senior managing director at Manulife Investment Management, leading its real estate credit platform.  She has both private and public commercial real estate investment experience spanning nearly two decades. Prior to joining the firm, Jessica was a managing director and head of originations for BentallGreenOak’s U.S. Debt. She was a principal within The Carlyle Group's credit opportunities, where she built the firm’s U.S. track record in commercial real estate credit. She served as a vice president and partner at H/2 Capital Partners, where she spearheaded public and private lodging investments. Earlier in her career, she was an associate within J.P. Morgan Investment Management's Real Estate Americas, where she worked on distressed equity and credit investments during the global financial crisis.

Jessica Lee

Kenneth Tsang

Head of Asset Management, Asia

Kenneth is responsible for managing real estate investment assets within the Asia-Pacific region and enhancing portfolio performance through accretive asset management, as well as investment support to expand new markets and asset classes. Prior to joining the firm, he was the general manager of property at KHI Holding Group, where he led the investment, asset management, and development management of the global real estate portfolio covering Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe. Earlier in his career, Kenneth worked at J.P. Morgan Asset Management as the executive director of development in their global real assets Asia team and at Parsons Brinckerhoff (now Williams Sale Partnership, or WSP) as the technical director, responsible for providing technical due diligence, development management, project and construction management, engineering design, and consulting services in Asia ex-Japan. Kenneth is a Chartered Surveyor of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a Member of Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors.

Kenneth Tsang

Kenny Lam

CIO and Head of Transactions, Real Estate Equity, Asia Pacific

Kenny is responsible for real estate investment activities in Asia Pacific, expanding the platform's geographical footprint in the region, managing Manulife Investment Management’s real estate portfolio, identifying and investing in new real estate investment opportunities.

Kenny first joined Manulife in 2017 as Head of Asia Real Estate Investments, after which he took on the role of Chief Investment Officer (Strategic Investment) at Link REIT in 2022.  Prior to joining Manulife, Kenny was the Chief Manager at the Hong Kong Monetary Authority responsible for the investment and management of the global real estate portfolio.  Kenny has also held roles in Shanghai, Hong Kong and New York at Ping An Real Estate where he was the Executive Director, Strategic and Overseas Investment, J.P. Morgan Asset Management where he was the Vice President of Acquisitions, Global Real Assets Asia and Citigroup Global Markets where he was a real estate investment banking associate.

Kenny Lam

Maggie Coleman

CIO, Real Estate Equity, North America, and Global Co-Head of Portfolio Management

In her role as chief investment officer for Manulife Investment Management, North America, Real Estate, Maggie is responsible for developing and executing investment strategies, working with key operator/general partner relationships, managing portfolio risk and performance, and driving overall investment decisions and transaction volume across the firm’s North American business. She oversees performance on behalf of the firm’s clients, including structuring and execution of key ventures, capital formation, and integration of products. Prior to joining Manulife, Maggie was a founding member and managing partner of Sera Global, where she led the global private capital advisory business for real assets. Previously, Maggie served as senior managing director and head of international capital for JLL, where she led a team primarily focused on cross‐border deployment of capital across the Americas, Europe, and Asia-Pacific and was responsible for placing capital from offshore investors into JLL’s direct transactions, joint ventures, and recapitalizations.

Maggie Coleman

Onay Payne

Portfolio Manager, Real Estate Impact Investment

Onay is a senior managing director and portfolio manager at Manulife Investment Management, responsible for driving the strategy and development of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) impact investment capabilities across the firm’s platform. She partners with the investment, asset management, and investor relations teams in screening investments; identifying risks and opportunities with respect to ESG impact; optimizing portfolio construction; enhancing asset performance; maximizing returns; and establishing performance benchmarking for ESG impact. She serves on the global real estate leadership team.

Prior to joining the firm, Onay was managing director of real estate at Lafayette Square, a for-profit impact investment platform.  Before that, she was an equity partner, managing director, and portfolio manager at Clarion Partners, where she managed close to $10 billion in assets under management over the course of her nearly 20-year tenure.  Onay began her career as a financial analyst at JP Morgan Chase Investment Bank

Regan Smith

Managing Director, Sustainable Investing, Real Estate and Infrastructure

Regan has overall accountability for implementing and managing the firm’s sustainability strategy across a global portfolio of real estate, totaling over 60 million square feet across 11 countries. She develops strategic programs to address changing global market demand, the policy landscape, and investor expectations toward sustainability and corporate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) objectives. Regan works with global investment management teams, asset managers, real estate services teams, and property teams, assessing ESG issues such as the environmental and social impact of investments.

Prior to joining the firm, Regan held a leadership role in the sustainability and energy team at the engineering consulting firm WSP, where she provided sustainability advisory services, green building certification, energy and carbon management, and greenhouse gas accounting. She was one of the first consultants to provide green building and sustainability consulting in Canada.

Regan Smith

Scott Gordon

Head of Asset Management, North America

Scott oversees the firm’s real estate investment assets within Canada and the United States across office, industrial, and multifamily properties. He’s responsible for enhancing portfolio performance through accretive asset management, as well as helping to lead due diligence of new markets as the firm continues to broaden its real estate platform across North America. Previously, he was head of Canadian real estate asset management. Prior to joining the firm, Scott was the executive director of Canadian investments at Starlight Investments, responsible for the execution of all acquisitions, dispositions, and financing of multifamily assets within Canada. He spent the first 10 years of his career at Brookfield Asset Management. Based in New York for 5 years before moving to Toronto, he focused on investments and asset management of real estate across the risk spectrum throughout North America.

Scott Gordon

Victor Calanog, Ph.D.

Global Co-Head of Research and Strategy

Victor is global co-head of research and strategy for Manulife Investment Management’s real estate platform. He previously served as head of commercial real estate economics at Moody’s Analytics and, prior to that, he served as chief economist and senior vice president at REIS. Through all of his roles, Victor led the creation and implementation of estimation and forecasting models for real estate markets, valuation, and risk platforms for portfolio analytics, and served as a key spokesperson for clients, the industry, and media through thought leadership initiatives. His assessments of market conditions have appeared in major international publications, and he serves on several boards and committees. Victor is a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.​

Kenny Lam

Manuela Sarnecki

Managing Director, Head of Dispositions, North America

Manuela holds a lead role in the acquisition and disposition of investment properties across Canada, covering a wide spectrum of asset sectors, including industrial, multifamily, land, office, and retail. Her involvement spans the full deal cycle, from sourcing opportunities to closing of transactions. She’s responsible for underwriting investments and financial modeling, market analysis, reviewing and negotiating deal terms in letters of intent and purchase and sale agreements, preparing investment approval packages and participating in investment committee presentations, managing a professional and organized due diligence process in collaboration with internal partners, and providing procedural support in advance of closings. Prior to joining Manulife, Manuela was an analyst with Standard Life Investments (Real Estate) Inc., where she had various responsibilities, including tracking and managing acquisition opportunities for the firm and preparing recommendations for senior management approval for transactions under consideration.

Manuela Sarnecki

Meghan Henselwood

Managing Director of Transactions, Canadian Real Estate

In her current role, Meghan is responsible for acquisition activity across all property types and risk profiles in Western Canada on behalf of Manulife’s general account and third‐party clients. Prior to joining the firm, she worked at Lotus Capital as the director of acquisitions, responsible for sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, and contracting real estate investment transactions across Canada while overseeing the underwriting and due diligence. Previously, she worked at Cushman & Wakefield as a financial analyst. Meghan began her career at one of Canada’s largest wealth management firms, evaluating companies and analyzing future investment products and opportunities.

Jeffrey K. Yamashiroya

Managing Director, Asset Management, Western US and Canada

Jeff is the portfolio manager of Manulife’s US diversified core plus fund where he is responsible for the investment, management, and performance of the fund. Previously, he oversaw all real estate asset management functions for the West Region in US and Canada and provided investment support on new acquisitions. His responsibilities included managing the regional asset management team, building out the platform, and overseeing the development and execution of asset-level strategies in the office, industrial, retail and multifamily sectors. Prior to joining the firm, Jeff was a Principal at Blackstone, where he managed $20bn of assets across all real estate sectors and was responsible for strategic capital investment, dispositions and value-add initiatives as well as the development of various operating platform companies. Previously, he was a senior consultant at Harbinger Capital Partners in Asia and, prior to that, was an associate at Blackpoint Capital Advisors, where he executed real estate and lodging investments on the U.S. West Coast. He started his career in investment banking at Societe Generale and corporate banking at Wells Fargo.

Jeffrey K. Yamashiroya

Julio Perrotta

Managing Director, Asset Management, Eastern Canada

Julio is currently managing director, real estate investments, at Manulife Investment Management (MIM), a global multi-asset investment manager with $444 billion in total assets under management. He is a member of the Canadian transactions team responsible for all real estate investment activities on behalf of MIM’s various investor accounts. Prior to MIM, and going back to 2002, Julio has worked across several real estate disciplines for groups including Avison Young, GWL Realty Advisors, the TELUS pension fund, and the Firm Capital Organization.

Julio Perrotta

Katherine Canning Winter

Managing Director, Asset Management, Eastern US

Katherine is based in Atlanta, GA, and she is responsible for the Southeast Region of the United States, Katherine leads the regional asset management team in the execution of asset-level strategies to drive value and performance for industrial, office, multifamily, and retail asset types. She also oversees after third-party property management, leasing, and capital projects on a multi-client portfolio.​

Prior to Manulife, she was the regional director of the Southeast for Jamestown, in Atlanta, overseeing over 5 million square feet of mixed use, office, multifamily, and retail properties. At Jamestown she managed a team of 11 professionals responsible for executing leasing, capital projects, dispositions, refinancings, and other value add-initiatives. Prior to joining Jamestown, she spent four years in ASB Real Estate Investment’s Capital Investments Group in Bethesda, MD as vice president. At ASB, she was responsible for acquisitions, dispositions, and asset management of multifamily, industrial, office, and retail properties in the Southeastern, mid-Atlantic and Midwestern United States. She started her career in 2007 in investment banking in Charlotte, NC, and quickly moved over to Wells Fargo Bank’s Special Situations, distressed commercial real estate group, where she worked during the Global Financial Crisis. ​

Kenneth Tsang

Head of Asset Management, Asia

Kenneth is responsible for managing real estate investment assets within the Asia-Pacific region and enhancing portfolio performance through accretive asset management, as well as investment support to expand new markets and asset classes. Prior to joining the firm, he was the general manager of property at KHI Holding Group, where he led the investment, asset management, and development management of the global real estate portfolio covering Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe. Earlier in his career, Kenneth worked at J.P. Morgan Asset Management as the executive director of development in their global real assets Asia team and at Parsons Brinckerhoff (now Williams Sale Partnership, or WSP) as the technical director, responsible for providing technical due diligence, development management, project and construction management, engineering design, and consulting services in Asia ex-Japan. Kenneth is a Chartered Surveyor of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a Member of Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors.

Kenneth Tsang

Scott Gordon

Head of Asset Management, North America

Scott oversees the firm’s real estate investment assets within Canada and the United States across office, industrial, and multifamily properties. He’s responsible for enhancing portfolio performance through accretive asset management, as well as helping to lead due diligence of new markets as the firm continues to broaden its real estate platform across North America. Previously, he was head of Canadian real estate asset management. Prior to joining the firm, Scott was the executive director of Canadian investments at Starlight Investments, responsible for the execution of all acquisitions, dispositions, and financing of multifamily assets within Canada. He spent the first 10 years of his career at Brookfield Asset Management. Based in New York for 5 years before moving to Toronto, he focused on investments and asset management of real estate across the risk spectrum throughout North America.

Scott Gordon

Thomas Ling

Managing Director, Multifamily Asset Management, North America

Tom is Manulife Investment managing director, head of U.S. multifamily asset management.. In his role, Tom oversees the U.S. multifamily asset management platform and leads the team in driving value across the firm’s apartment holdings. He also works closely with the portfolio management and transactions groups to align and implement strategic visions. Tom is active in both internal and industry technology initiatives, continually looking for new ways to push asset performance and decision-making capabilities. 

Tom has over 15 years of asset management experience predominately working on multifamily portfolios. Prior to joining the company, Thomas was the vice president of multifamily asset management at PGIM Real Estate where he was the primary asset manager for a $3 billion multifamily portfolio with over 9,000 units at 35 properties. Prior to his role at PGIM, Tom performed asset management, portfolio management, development and transactions duties across all product types at Arsenal Real Estate and Everwest Real Estate.

Tom is an active member of NMHC (National Multifamily Housing Council), where he serves on their Emerging Leaders Committee and Diversity Committee.

Bryan Siekierko

Managing Director, Portfolio Management, Canada

Bryan is responsible for the ongoing investment strategy of the firm’s Canadian property portfolio, including acquisitions, dispositions, and financing. Previously, he was an investment director with the global real estate investment and management arm of the firm. Before that, Bryan played an integral part in the firm’s key business development initiatives with third-party investors in both Canada and the United States. Earlier in his career, he worked in the investment advisory business, participating in over $2 billion in acquisitions and dispositions for one of Canada’s leading investment advisory firms.

Bryan Siekierko

Glenn D’Silva

Managing Director, Portfolio Management, Canada

Glenn is a portfolio manager for Manulife Investment Management, responsible for the portfolio strategy and performance of one of the firm’s open-ended Canadian real estate portfolios, and ensuring a well-balanced and diversified portfolio that meets client expectations. Glenn has over 30 years of real estate experience in treasury, project financing, acquisitions and dispositions, institutional advisory, and portfolio management. In a previous role, Glenn was the fund manager for an institutional open-ended pooled fund, growing the fund from $275 million to over $1 billion in AUM. Prior to joining Manulife Investment Management, Glenn worked in the real estate groups of Standard Life Investments and The Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada in a number of progressive roles. ​

Jeffrey Wolfe, MAI, CFA

Portfolio Manager and Global Co-Head of Portfolio Management

Jeffrey heads the firm’s portfolio management function for the real estate equity group, where he’s responsible for seeking to maximize the performance of client portfolios. He’s also the portfolio manager for Manulife’s global real estate portfolio, responsible for the investment, management, and performance of the portfolio. Prior to that, he was chief investment officer of a publicly traded real estate investment trust that he helped launch on the Singapore stock exchange. Before joining the firm, Jeffrey worked within the investment advisory arena with firms such as Lend Lease and Equitable Real Estate Investment Management. His diverse background in real estate includes prior positions as portfolio manager, acquisitions officer, asset manager, chief credit officer, director of analytics, and chief appraiser. Jeffrey holds both the Member Appraisal Institute and Chartered Financial Analyst designations.

Jeffrey K. Yamashiroya

Managing Director, Asset Management, Western US and Canada

Jeff is the portfolio manager of Manulife’s US diversified core plus fund where he is responsible for the investment, management, and performance of the fund. Previously, he oversaw all real estate asset management functions for the West Region in US and Canada and provided investment support on new acquisitions. His responsibilities included managing the regional asset management team, building out the platform, and overseeing the development and execution of asset-level strategies in the office, industrial, retail and multifamily sectors. Prior to joining the firm, Jeff was a Principal at Blackstone, where he managed $20bn of assets across all real estate sectors and was responsible for strategic capital investment, dispositions and value-add initiatives as well as the development of various operating platform companies. Previously, he was a senior consultant at Harbinger Capital Partners in Asia and, prior to that, was an associate at Blackpoint Capital Advisors, where he executed real estate and lodging investments on the U.S. West Coast. He started his career in investment banking at Societe Generale and corporate banking at Wells Fargo.

Jessica is a senior managing director at Manulife Investment Management, leading its real estate credit platform.  She has both private and public commercial real estate investment experience spanning nearly two decades. Prior to joining the firm, Jessica was a managing director and head of originations for BentallGreenOak’s U.S. Debt. She was a principal within The Carlyle Group's credit opportunities, where she built the firm’s U.S. track record in commercial real estate credit. She served as a vice president and partner at H/2 Capital Partners, where she spearheaded public and private lodging investments. Earlier in her career, she was an associate within J.P. Morgan Investment Management's Real Estate Americas, where she worked on distressed equity and credit investments during the global financial crisis.

In her role as chief investment officer for Manulife Investment Management, North America, Real Estate, Maggie is responsible for developing and executing investment strategies, working with key operator/general partner relationships, managing portfolio risk and performance, and driving overall investment decisions and transaction volume across the firm’s North American business. She oversees performance on behalf of the firm’s clients, including structuring and execution of key ventures, capital formation, and integration of products. Prior to joining Manulife, Maggie was a founding member and managing partner of Sera Global, where she led the global private capital advisory business for real assets. Previously, Maggie served as senior managing director and head of international capital for JLL, where she led a team primarily focused on cross‐border deployment of capital across the Americas, Europe, and Asia-Pacific and was responsible for placing capital from offshore investors into JLL’s direct transactions, joint ventures, and recapitalizations.

Onay Payne

Portfolio Manager, Real Estate Impact Investment

Onay is a senior managing director and portfolio manager at Manulife Investment Management, responsible for driving the strategy and development of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) impact investment capabilities across the firm’s platform. She partners with the investment, asset management, and investor relations teams in screening investments; identifying risks and opportunities with respect to ESG impact; optimizing portfolio construction; enhancing asset performance; maximizing returns; and establishing performance benchmarking for ESG impact. She serves on the global real estate leadership team.

Prior to joining the firm, Onay was managing director of real estate at Lafayette Square, a for-profit impact investment platform.  Before that, she was an equity partner, managing director, and portfolio manager at Clarion Partners, where she managed close to $10 billion in assets under management over the course of her nearly 20-year tenure.  Onay began her career as a financial analyst at JP Morgan Chase Investment Bank

Previously, she was the founder and managing partner of RRC Holdings, a private investment company focused on the acquisition and renovation of prefabricated residential housing.

Erin Patterson

Global Co-Head of Research and Strategy

As global co‐head of research and strategy of real estate private markets, Erin is responsible for developing and executing the real estate platform’s overall research strategy and house view, leveraging predictive analytics and proprietary modeling that guide the acquisition and asset management real estate lifecycle. She works closely with the regional chief investment officers and functional teams in these efforts, contributing investment decision‐making insight and working toward an increasing level of sophistication and quality with regard to evaluating and advancing the investment thesis. In her role, Erin sits on the global real estate leadership team.

Previously, Erin was director of real estate research and strategy at Wafra Real Estate, responsible for executing and maintaining a research and strategy platform in support of the Wafra real estate team, fund, and portfolio investments. Before that, Erin was a senior vice president at JLL, where she led and managed engagements with major global corporate occupiers in various real estate portfolio and organizational transformation strategies. She also managed principal and investor‐side engagements that included real estate investment/portfolio strategy, feasibility analysis, and market impact studies. Prior to that, Erin worked at DWS, where she was responsible for leading research and strategy for office investments across the United States.

Erin Patterson

Victor Calanog, Ph.D.

Global Co-Head of Research and Strategy

Victor is global co-head of research and strategy for Manulife Investment Management’s real estate platform. He previously served as head of commercial real estate economics at Moody’s Analytics and, prior to that, he served as chief economist and senior vice president at REIS. Through all of his roles, Victor led the creation and implementation of estimation and forecasting models for real estate markets, valuation, and risk platforms for portfolio analytics, and served as a key spokesperson for clients, the industry, and media through thought leadership initiatives. His assessments of market conditions have appeared in major international publications, and he serves on several boards and committees. Victor is a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.​

Prior to her current role, she was a director in the firm’s private markets financial reporting and advisory team and, earlier in her career, Amy held roles in real estate and financial services companies, including TD Bank Group and Ernst & Young. Erik Gustafson

Global COO, Real Estate

Erik oversees global operations for the firm’s real estate investment assets, encompassing a portfolio of office, industrial, and multifamily assets. In this role, he works with the firm’s global real estate leadership team to assess and set organizational vision, operational strategy, and target growth initiatives. Previously, he was the firm’s head of U.S. real estate asset management.  Earlier in his career, ​Erik spent 15 years with Fidelity, where he was the global head of portfolio management at the Pembroke real estate group of Fidelity Investments. He began his career with Arthur Andersen and Capgemini Ernst & Young. As of April 2022, Erik is a member of the Global Exchange Council.​

Joseph oversees the global valuations for Manulife Investment Management’s real estate investment assets, comprising office, industrial, multifamily, and developments across the capital stack. He leads an international in-house team of valuation experts to ensure valuations are leading to credible results for our investors. Joseph’s team frequently uses external appraisers and interacts with key business functions, such as transactions, asset management, and portfolio management. Prior to joining the firm, he spent eight years with Ernst & Young, where he was a senior manager in the real estate transaction advisory services group, leading the valuation group in the Boston office. Joseph started his career at Sunlife (now BGO) in its valuations and strategic research and initiatives group.

Prior to joining the firm, he was a real estate audit manager at EY (formerly Ernest & Young) and, prior to that, a senior manager of financial reporting and technical accounting at First Capital Realty.
