Biography

David oversees forest management operations on 1.4 million acres of investment grade timberlands, leases and timber deeds located in California, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia. He is responsible for meeting client returns and stewardship goals through appropriate silviculture, maintaining compliance with all environmental and regulatory standards, promoting team excellence and safety, and being the log supplier of choice to many mill customers. . He accomplishes this with a team of 60 forest management employees including the general manager of western silviculture and five region managers. Prior to joining the firm, David was the Idaho state forester and deputy director for the Idaho Department of Lands.  As state forester, he represented the State of Idaho on several national and state organizations and committees dealing with trust land management and natural resource-related policy issues.  His broad and extensive forestry and natural resource experience includes work in the private, industrial, and public sectors as well as in three different geographic regions of the country – the South, the Lake States, and the West.
