Manulife Investment Management achieves LEED® Platinum for Churchill Office Park in Ottawa

Manulife Investment Management announced today that it was awarded LEED v4.1 O+M: Existing Buildings Platinum at its Churchill Office Park in Ottawa.

The LEED v4.1 O+M: Existing Buildings certification provides existing buildings an opportunity to evaluate their building operations on a consistent scale with the goal of maximizing operational efficiency while minimizing environmental impact. Buildings are assessed based upon their best practices in key areas including energy, water, and waste management, transportation, and human experience.

“This certification is a testament to the dedication to sustainability our property management and operations teams at Churchill Office Park practice every day,” said Stephen Nicoletti, Managing Director, Real Estate Asset Management at Manulife Investment Management “We are proud to help drive leadership in sustainable real estate, helping to provide a healthy and efficient workplace for our tenants.”

Over the last few years, Churchill Office Park has worked to implement sustainable initiatives and upgrades to increase the buildings’ sustainable performance including installing electric vehicle charging stations, bicycle storage, LED retrofits, beehives, and water stations that encourage the use of reusable bottles. The property team also actively engages tenants through food drives during the holidays, health and wellness virtual campaigns, and workshops featuring the beehives on site.
