Manulife Investment Management’s Real Estate Team Delivering Meals This Holiday Season

Manulife Investment Management’s real estate team donates prepared meals and groceries across North America this holiday season.

“In the spirit of giving, we are proud to continue our Green Gloves holiday delivery service this year. While cities are moving towards various stages of reopening, we continue to see the hardship local businesses are enduring,” said Scott Gordon, head of real estate asset management, Canada at Manulife Investment Management. For the second year counting, the real estate team has partnered with local restaurants and food service providers across their portfolio to donate prepared meals or groceries to local community organizations throughout the month of December.

In Toronto, Manulife Centre and its partners, Pilot Coffee Roasters and Scaccia, came together to deliver hundreds of prepared meals for the families of Church of the Redeemer. Two of Manulife Centre’s anchor retailers, Eataly and Independent City Market, joined the holiday giving initiative by donating additional fare to the Church’s holiday lunch for those in need from the surrounding communities. The team at North American Centre has partnered with its tenants, Pumpernickel’s and Mr. Souvlaki, in support of Eva’s initiative for homeless youth.

Edmonton’s Manulife Place, together with Rebite Café are delivering meals to Ronald McDonald House and Youth Empowerment and Support Services (YESS). In Montreal, J’aime ma ville community organization and the team of Centre Manuvie are working together to gather, assemble and deliver baskets to 60 families in need within their communities. 191 N. Wacker with Mojo Coffee, and 55 W. Monroe with Dollop Coffee are joining forces to support H.O.M.E. and Pilgrim Lutheran Church & School.

“Along with small businesses, many local charities remain in a fragile state as they experience higher demand, while grappling with staff and volunteer shortages. Our objective was to provide a helping hand and support the most vulnerable in our communities.” said Erik Gustafson, head of real estate asset management, U.S. “The success of the communities we serve is one of the cornerstones to our success. We are humbled by the efforts of our local teams, who have clearly demonstrated the importance of community.”
